Peermont Global Botswana deals a hefty hand for charity

Recently, Peermont Global Botswana handed over P50 000 to the Lady Khama Charitable Trust as a result of a generous charity run to raise P1 million during the 2010 Ghanzi Horse Endurance Relay held in November last year.
The 2010 Endurance Horse Relay was the brainchild of Botswanan Agriculture Minister Christian De Graaf and Ghanzi businessman Christiaan Kitching to raise money for the trust. Through collaborative efforts, a partnership developed with the Horse Raising Association of Botswana to engage in a horse relay from Gantzi to Gaborone in 23 legs of 30km's each. Businesses were approached to sponsor each leg and Peermont Global Botswana made a generous donation of P50 000, handed over to Lady Khama Charitable Trust on Wednesday, 30 March 2011. "We hope the money will assist the trust and make a lasting positive impact on the lives of those supported by the trust," says Charne Christensen, The Grand Palm Marketing and Promotions Manager.
Jacqueline Khama, Lady Khama Charitable Trust chairman said, "The donation made by Peermont Global Botswana will contribute immensely in boosting our efforts to improve the work we do throughout Botswana. The money will be used by the trust to donate to deserving organizations across the country that helps uplift the lives of women and children. It aims to achieve this by initiating, establishing, supplementing and promoting charitable and educational activities in Botswana and by raising and investing funds to support this mission."
With the immense success of the 2010 Endurance Horse Relay, Minister De Graaf wishes to make this an annual event where the departure venues will be changed each year.
