Come and enjoy the Durban July celebrations at Mmabatho Palms
10 June 2011
The Mmabatho Palms Hotel Casino and Convention Resort in Mafikeng is celebrating the annual horse-racing extravaganza, the Durban July, by hosting its own show-stopping fête on 2 July. The resort, which is over 600 kilometres from the actual event, has a hot line-up planned for local residents.
The excitement is rife among the staff at the resort, which are pulling out all the stops to bring the July fever to their guests. They are creating their own Durban July atmosphere by transforming the resort into a place fit for an electrifying fashion parade, where guests can socialise while watching the exciting horse racing on a big screen. The event is famous for its fashion forwardness and not an ounce of this will be lacking at the Mmabatho Palms festivities. Beautiful models adorned in captivating garments, created by local designers like Evolve, North West School of Design, Valencia Padaychi and MO’DI Creations will be strutting their looks on the catwalk.
Guests attending the screening of the horse race are encouraged to arrive dressed to the nines as a Best Dressed Competition themed, Right Royal Affair will take place. The screening of the derby starts at 11h00 when guests will be welcomed with a drink. Lunch will be served at 13h00 followed by the fashion show and dessert. All the guests who are participating in the best dressed competition will take to the catwalk at 16h00.
Tickets are sold at R200 per person and include the fashion show, a delectable lunch and loads of prizes. Guests, who do not want the fun to end when the derby is over, can enjoy the luxurious accommodation at Mmabatho Palms. The four-star Peermont Walmont hotel offers guests comfortable rooms equipped with an air-conditioner, bath and shower, and TV with selected satellite channels.
