Emperors Palace will celebrate its 15th birthday from October to December, and after winning a prestigious Lilizela Tourism Award, the resort has even more reason to rejoice. The Convention Centre at The Palace of Dreams recently clinched an award for Service Excellence in Accommodation.
We are very excited to have won such an accolade amongst leading competitors. The awards may be new, but the selection criteria is world-class,” says Wayne Hill, General Manager for Hotels and Resort Operations at Emperors Palace.
The Lilizela Tourism Awards honour and celebrate those who make a remarkable impact on tourism in South Africa. The winners were announced at the inaugural celebrations where the impressive ceremony took place after a panel of tourism experts perused more than a thousand submissions.
“Emperors Palace forms part of only four other Gauteng based properties that were awarded Lilizela Tourism Awards”, Hill proudly comments. “For us awards have never been a mantle-piece’ philosophy, but instead a tangible reminder that service excellence remains our key value. The more we are awarded, the harder we remind ourselves about our promise to our guests.”
The Lilizela Tourism Awards was launched at INDABA 2013 by the Minister of Tourism, Marthinus van Schalkwyk who proudly boasts, “The Lilizela Tourism Awards were created to honour the outstanding contributions of tourism establishments and individuals who are driving innovation and delivering quality service and products. All of the winners – provincially and nationally – have not only set the standard for global excellence, but they have also demonstrated why our country continues to be one of the most frequently visited by tourists from all over the world.”
